About Us- traders, writers, speakers, mentors, where do we start?
The aim of this site is to show new traders professional strategies and money management until they can 'flee the nest' and no longer need us. It's not that we don't want to have people along for the long haul, but we want people to be able to progress to that of a competent trader/investor to a point where they simply don’t need us any more...
EzeeTrader provides market commentary and analysis through a variety of different mediums; via our free video updates, weekly email or subscription based newsletter. The website was established by Kym Watson and Kevin Burton who wanted to post their thoughts on the markets. By putting their commentary on the web, they were forced to objectively research the markets which in turn aids their own trading styles.
Although we both love trading, the lonely existence of a trader can lead to boredom and it is therefore important to have variety in our working lives. Communicating with other traders breaks up the monotony of sitting in our offices everyday which is what we used to do. Now, with a trading chat room, we can speak with other like minded traders, most of whom we have coached in the past.
Having both traded for some years, we both cut any ties with employment in 2001 after successful careers in management and financial services. Initially trading in the options markets, we decided to pull funds back to the UK as other financial trading instruments became available. Although the life of a trader gave us the independence we wanted, we were both lacking the variety we were once so used to.
In 2002 we realised that all the information we had been gathering to trade ourselves, would be useful to others and decided to start writing a monthly newsletter. Originally just 10 pages in size, it soon grew with regular features and more educational content, as demanded by our increasing number of readers. Our newsletter is now quite unique and is read by both novices and city professionals alike.
Following the success of our newsletter we were asked to speak at a number of different functions and currently host a monthly club meeting for the largest investment training company in the UK. This along with some personal mentoring, led us to realise the need for good quality easy to understand training materials, that actually demonstrated the techniques and could be watched over and over again. Thus our CD collection was started early in 2006 and is being added to due to demand on a regular basis.
As for our trading rooms, these have changed quite a bit since we started out with the single monitor on our laptops. In fact we now both have two powerful PCs both of which running four monitors fed by satalite data.
Trading part time
More and more individuals want to start trading part time whilst still learning the ropes. This is an excellent idea as it allows an individual to focus on gaining consistency without having to worry about paying the bills from their trading accounts. For people here in the UK, the opportunity to trade the US markets in the evenings after they have come home from work is very appealing. In fact, that’s how Kym and Kevin started.
For people based elsewhere around the world, the currency markets certainly offer the flexibility of trading at literally any time of day or night. With the web based technology we all have at our fingertips, there really is no better time to get started in trading for recreation or for a living.
The key to successful trading is to firstly focus on risk, then risk and then risk again. Unfortunately, too many traders and investors spend their time focussing on potential profits when in fact they should keep their attention on managing risk. Kym and Kevin constantly say "focus on the trade setups and your risk management and the profits will take care of themselves."
Investing
Although EzeeTrader itself is focussed on trading, technical analysis, chart patterns and money management, we still like to find long term investments too. This is where the monthly newsletter comes into play. Not only does it give educational content and trading articles, it likes to look at the larger investing trends over the coming years. We both like to have a macro view of what is going on in the global economy as well as their purely short term trading views.
Live trading room
We have been quietly trading with a small group of people in a trading room, exchanging trade set ups, new trades plus of course having fun whilst there. However, due to increasing demand, we have decided to open it up to more people who want to join in. The live trading room goes ‘live’ at the end of September 2006 as part of the day trading package. Be sure to keep watching for when this is launched.
Trading philosophy
We believe that although trading can be very rewarding, it is also difficult to learn in the early days due to human emotions getting involved. Anyone who says trading is easy is probably telling a lie or doesn’t actually trade themselves. Yes trading can become easier over time and professionals make it look easy, but that doesn’t mean it is straight away.
Treat the markets with respect, trade with correct position sizing and obey your trading rules. If you can do this, you are on the path to a future of consistency in the markets. If you find your emotions trying to influence you, take time off from trading and always remember who won the race between the tortoise and the hare!
What makes EzeeTrader different?
It’s our ethics. We don’t go around telling people they can be gozillionnaires in 3 months or any such thing. We want traders to achieve real results and understand that this doesn’t happen overnight. Within the newsletter and educational cd-rom’s, we give specific ways to trade using exact entry and exit techniques – also, where possible, we show real time trade set ups, not just trades that are taken from a historic chart. Trading is about enjoying the journey, not just focussing on the destination.
We also believe trading should be fun and so enjoy a laugh and joke where we can. We are serious when we have to be, but will share a joke or two where we can!
Although this is a free site, it is not put together to maximise traffic like some you might find. It is here to help people see how professional investors and traders view the markets in a very easy way.
